SAN DIEGO (KUSI) -- This weekend was a homecoming of sorts for San Diego native Reggie Bush and his recently returned Heisman Trophy.
Friday night at Pendry San Diego's Oxford Social Club, the Spring Valley native was seen flanked by his Heisman Trophy and Silver Pigskin Trophy. Bush played football for Helix High School in La Mesa and was awarded the Silver Pigskin from KUSI's Prep Pigskin Report in 2001.
Friday's celebration came months after the former University of Southern California running back had his 2005 Heisman Trophy reinstated. Bush had forfeited the award in 2010 after an “NCAA investigation that found he received what were impermissible benefits” during his time at USC, according to the Associated Press.
