BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) -- Charges against former LSU football player Kayshon Boutte have been dropped by the state of Louisiana, according to ESPN.

Boutte, 22, was charged with gaming prohibited for persons under 21 and computer fraud in January of this year.

The Louisiana State Police investigated this case after the online gambling company FanDuel Sportsbook alerted them to wagers being made by a collegiate athlete. The former LSU wide receiver was accused of betting on sports between April 6, 2022, and May 7, 2023. He was 20 years old at that time.

While at LSU, Boutte amassed 131 receptions, 1,782 yards, and 16 touchdowns. Boutte was drafted in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots.
