FEMA opens mobile center in Connersville
CONNERSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — The Federal Emergency Management Agency set up a mobile unit Friday at the Baptist Temple in Connersville to help Fayette County residents apply for federal assistance following historic floods two weeks ago.
FEMA officials asked residents to file all insurance claims and organize paperwork before applying for federal help.
Richard King, who has lived in Connersville for 15 years, said he was disappointed by the lack of immediate action from state and federal officials. “They say sign up with the state from 211, they’ll give you up to $5,000 to get you housing, food, clothes. We haven’t seen anything whatsoever.”
