SAN BENITO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — After being delayed due to the weather, the city of San Benito is finally celebrating Resacafest.
Resacafest is held in July every year to ring in Fourth of July festivities and to celebrate the spirit of America. It was planned to take place Saturday, July 6 at Heavin Memorial Park.
However, due to concerns about the impact of Hurricane Beryl on the Rio Grande Valley last month, the city opted to postpone the event.
Now, the city has its sights on August 9. The free event will be open to the public and will include live music, delicious food, cold beverages, a BBQ contest and plenty of fun activities.
The city is also going to do a back to school giveaway for any children in the area.
This year's lineup consists of the following:
- 5 p.m. - Jamming Joe
- 6 p.m. - Fruty Villarreal y Los Mavericks
- 7 p.m. - Brody Rivers
- 8:45 p.m. - La Calma
- 9:30 p.m. - Buck'n Crazy
The event will be held at Heavin Memorial Park.
