SAU Tech officials say campus on precautionary lockdown, no active shooter reported

CAMDEN, Ark. – Officials at Southern Arkansas University Tech say the Camden campus is on a precautionary lockdown but note that there is not an active shooter.

While officials said they could not give full details, they did say there was activity involving law enforcement officers near the campus.

School leaders went on to say the safety of students, faculty and staff were “our top priority” and pledged to provide updates when possible.

The school, located at 6415 Spellman Road, is a two-year public college offering technical & transfer degrees with an average enrollment of 1,800 students a year.
