LIDO BEACH, N.Y (PIX11) -- A shark spotted at Nickerson Beach Park at Lido Beach led to a red-flag warning for swimmers on Saturday, said Hempstead officials.
Lifeguards saw the shark about 75 feet from the shore and immediately evacuated Lido Beach and Malibu Shore Club. Swimming in the area is postponed until further notice.
Hempstead Shark Patrol is monitoring the situation and tracking the shark’s location. This sighting comes after a 7-foot shark was spotted at Lido Beach in July.
