PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Pittsfield Fire Department responded to 17-19 South Atlantic Avenue for a reported fire on Saturday morning.
According to the Pittsfield Fire Department, at approximately 4:11 a.m. on Saturday, crews were sent to a reported building fire at 17-19 South Atlantic Avenue. When crews arrived, there was a heavy fire on the first floor.
More crews were called in to help put out the fire, and once crews entered the home, searches were conducted in the building. A kitten was located and was taken to a medic crew for care.
Six residents are without a home and are being assisted by the American Red Cross. The Pittsfield Fire and Police Department is investigating the cause of the fire. No injuries have been reported.
