BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Ascension Parish officials urge residents in the area between Louisiana Highway 308 and Christy Drive to limit water usage while crews repair a main water line that was accidentally damaged.

According to a Thursday news release, a main water line was damaged by a contractor. Ascension Parish Utilities confirmed the break and sent crews to fix the issue.

"Valves have been closed to isolate the affected area, and our teams are actively working to restore water service as quickly as possible. We kindly ask that all residents minimize water usage during this time to facilitate the repair process and ensure a faster recovery," officials said.

The department is working to bring the system back to normal.

"We apologize for any inconvenience this disruption may cause and greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this matter," officials said.
