DENVER (KDVR) — The Gilpin County Sheriff's Office took a man into custody in connection to the death of his father.
On July 4, the Albany County Sheriff's Office in Wyoming discovered the body of James Bitner in a tarp at Mirror Lake. Mirror Lake is in the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest, about an hour and a half away from the Colorado-Wyoming border.
According to the Albany County Sheriff's Office, the investigation has been reclassified as a disposal of human remains, and the original homicide charge is being pursued in Colorado.
