INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) –Amazon John and Meerkat Mel of Silly Safaris brought a burst of springtime energy Wednesday, showcasing adorable baby chicks and ducklings while highlighting the special care young animals need to thrive.

The hands-on presentation gave a lively glimpse into the world of these tiny animals, which are featured in Silly Safaris’ interactive educational programs for local events and parties.

The birds, which are about two weeks old, require constant warmth and attention before they are old enough to live on the farm. Once mature, the female animals will produce eggs that Safaris uses to help feed the other resident animals in its collection.
