FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) — A Hamilton County favorite is gearing you up for the holidays. Conner Prairie’s ‘A Merry Prairie Holiday’ is open now through Friday, Dec. 26.

Laura Moore, an interpreter at Conner Prairie, says this is one of the best times of the year in Prairietown, a 19th-century village that lets guests interact with the people and routines of life in central Indiana in the 1830s.

“Here, it’s 1836, getting ready to become 1837. We’ll be dancing, playing festive Christmas music. We just got new music for a new Christmas carol. It has not yet been translated into English, but it’s called ‘Stille Nacht.’ It is a German carol. If you speak German, I believe it says ‘Silent Night,'” Moore said.

Visitors of all ages can enjoy experiences including “From Solstice to Santa: A Magic Lantern Crankie Show” at the Potter Shop Kiln Shed, a holiday projection show at the William Conner House, Frosty’s Sock Skating Rink, and more.

“We’re very festive community this time of the year with people outside celebrating as well as inside,” Moore said.
