Suspect in death of missing Colorado woman arrested in Florida

DENVER (KDVR) -- A Colorado man who was wanted in connection to the disappearance and death of a woman in Yuma was found and arrested in Florida on Monday.

Clifton Boggess, 62, was arrested near Lake Placid in Florida after a multi-agency manhunt.

The victim, Britani Meek, was first reported missing on Oct. 25, 2023, when she was heading to the Denver area to meet with an unknown person, according to the Yuma Police Department.

Police said her car was found on Nov. 16, and her body was found on Nov. 22, both on a property in rural Yuma County.

Last Wednesday, a homicide warrant was issued charging Boggess with first-degree murder, tampering with a deceased body, second-degree kidnapping, second-degree motor vehicle theft and third-degree assault, according to a press release from the U.S. Marshals Service.
