Suspect in fatal Walmart stabbing was recently released from state prison: deputies

Both the suspect and victim in a fatal stabbing at a Lake Elsinore Walmart have been identified by authorities.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, 29-year-old Lonnie Hinton is alleged to have stabbed one of the Walmart store’s employees around 7 a.m. Monday.

The employee suffered multiple stab wounds and died at the scene, the Sheriff’s Office said. She was identified as 65-year-old Jessica Morales of Menifee.

First responders arrived at the store and located Morales suffering from multiple stab wounds. She died at the scene.
