Suspect in Mobile apartment homicide found dead

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A suspect in a homicide that happened at a Mobile apartment complex Monday night is dead, according to the Mobile Police Department.

MPD officials said the person suspected to be involved in the Summit at Hillcrest Apartments homicide Monday night, died early Wednesday morning from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Officers said they were called to the complex around 10:15 p.m. Monday where they found a woman in her 50s dead from a gunshot wound inside an apartment.

At the time of the homicide, police said the woman was shot by someone she knew.

Officials said the suspect's death happened in Greenville, Ala.
