PARIS (KELO) -- Sioux Falls native Taryn Kloth and partner Kristen Nuss won their Olympic opener Saturday.
The American duo defeated Canada's Heather Bansley and Sophie Bukovec in straight sets (21-17, 21-14).
Kloth and Nuss scored the first four points of the match en route to the set one victory. In the second set, they trailed 5-4 before scoring seven straight points to jump on top 11-5.
Kloth registered 10 attack points, and Nuss posted 14 attack points.
The Sioux Falls native smacked the fastest serve of the match at 67 km/h (41.6 mph).
Kloth and Nuss are back in action in pool play on Monday.
