Brad Ledford, a contestant on Taylor Frankie Paul’s upcoming season of The Bachelorette, was involved in a years-long legal battle after he crashed his car and left a politician paralyzed.
In April 2014, Ledford, 29, was reportedly driving when his car “struck a concrete barrier and was instantly engulfed in flames,” The U.S. Sun reported on Wednesday, February 25.
Madison Cawthorn, a former U.S. representative from North Carolina, then just a teenager, was in the passenger seat at the time of the crash.
Cawthorn was left partially paralyzed and wheelchair bound as a result of the wreck.
According to The U.S. Sun, the friends were driving home from a spring break trip to Florida when Cawthorn claimed Ledford was “negligently operating” his 2007 BMW X3.
