"The Fried Pieper": Lucedale pie shop debuts new name

LUCEDALE, Miss. (WKRG) -- A popular fried pie shop, known for its wide variety of unique flavors, has unveiled its new name and look!

Once known as Magnolia Pie Company, the "pie shed" now goes by the name, The Fried Pieper.

"We landed on The Fried Pieper because I love all things pun, and it fits the red, white, and blue that I fell in love with when I originally started. This name, it's mine," explained owner, Kaytelin Stewart.

The new logo includes one of the famous fried pies adorned with a patriotic top hat. Stewart says Friday's rebranding event was a huge success. The event had local vendors, a waterslide, karaoke, giveaways, and a pie-eating contest.
