SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Fitting for the season, July is National Picnic Month, which raises the question: where are the best spots to picnic this summer?
For those who prefer more tranquil areas for picnicking, away from all the hustle and bustle, more remote and "hidden gem-type" spots may best suit you.
Researchers with photo book brand mixbook, conducted a survey with 3,000 Americans to uncover the top 125 off-grid picnic spots across the country.
One San Diego County area made the list. Can you guess where?
Ranking No. 17 on the list is Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. When highlighting the area, mixbook wrote:
"This desert park is off the beaten path and offers unique picnic spots amidst stunning desert landscapes. The wildflower blooms in spring provide a vibrant backdrop for a picnic, and the vast open spaces offer a sense of solitude and tranquility."
