Tracking: Daniel Schwarz to attend status hearing, faces same charges as convicted wife

ECTOR COUNTY, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- Daniel Schwarz, an Odessa man who is facing multiple charges after he and his convicted wife were accused of murdering their adopted child in 2020- will be heading to court for a status hearing.

The investigation began on August 29, 2020, when OPD was called to Ashley and Daniel Schwarz's home for a medical call- where they discovered their adopted 8-year-old daughter, Jaylin, had died. 

After further investigation, OPD learned the child had been punished was not allowed to eat breakfast, and was allegedly forced to jump on a trampoline without stopping. The autopsy reports showed that Jaylin had died from dehydration, despite Ashley's testimony in 2023 that stated she had fed and given water to both Jalylin and her sister.
