Travel delays continue into fifth day at San Diego International Airport

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Travelers headed to San Diego International Airport are likely to experience delays again Tuesday as airports across the country continue to reel from last week's global IT outage.

According to the airport's flight status tracker, 40 departing flights have been listed as "delayed" as of 8 a.m. Tuesday morning, with one canceled trip. Upwards of 48 flights arriving in San Diego similarly are listed as delayed, with five trips canceled.

Nationwide, about 2,501 flights have been listed as delayed, according to FlightAware data, while a total of 669 flights have been canceled — down from yesterday's 11,788 delayed trips and 1,771 cancellations.

On Monday, most airlines said they had begun to recover from meltdown caused by Friday's technology outage.
