(NewsNation) — Former Trump administration official Anthony Scaramucci warned Wednesday that his ex-boss's economic proposals could lead to a fiscal crisis and bankrupt Social Security.
Scaramucci, speaking on NewsNation's "Elizabeth Vargas Reports," criticized former President Donald Trump's call to end taxation of Social Security benefits, as it would amount to a loss of nearly $2 trillion in revenue for the federal government.
"What Mr. Trump is calling for is very dangerous. He's over-promising people," said Scaramucci, who briefly served as White House communications director in 2017. "He either won't be able to deliver on those promises, or he'll put us in a fiscal crisis."
