ODESSA, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) - Two people were killed in a major crash at 22nd and Golder Friday night.
According to a release from OPD, at about 11:30pm on Friday, July 12, officers responded to the intersection of 22nd and Golder, referencing a major crash. Investigation revealed a black 2018 Nissan Altima was speeding eastbound in the 600 block of West 22nd Street. The driver then lost control of the vehicle, causing it to run into a street sign and the north fence of Bowie Middle School. The vehicle continued through the fence and hit the west side of the school, where it stopped.
Both the driver and the front passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. OPD said speed and alcohol are believed to be factors of the crash. Next of kin have been notified.
This investigation remains ongoing.
