Two shootings leave victims critical, stable at same downtown Indy apartment complex

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis police say two people were shot and injured in two separate shootings within two hours of each other at the same downtown apartment complex Friday morning.

Online police records show the first call for a person shot came in at Lugar Towers off Fort Wayne Avenue around 6:15 a.m.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers arrived at the scene and found a woman with a gunshot wound.

Medics rushed her to a hospital in critical condition.

Then, just after 8 a.m., another call for a “gun shot” came in at the complex. IMPD says first responders found a man with a gunshot wound inside an apartment. Police described his condition as “stable – awake and breathing.”

IMPD says a person was detained in connection with the first shooting, but did not say what might have led up to either incident.
