SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) -- A safety warning alert was issued to the University of Utah campus early Tuesday morning, July 23, warning residents of a man flashing residents at the Shoreline Ridge residence halls.

The warning went out shortly before 3:30 a.m., just hours after the incident was reported. Officials say the man is described as a white male with a medium build, shoulder-length blonde hair, and a beard. He was last seen wearing dark shorts, dark shoes, and a gray shirt.

"[He] entered the residence halls through a window," officials said in the safety warning. "The male was observed exposing his genitalia to residents and fled south towards Red Butte Canyon Road once observed."

Residents are advised to make sure that their windows and doors are secure to help prevent any unwanted access to the building.

Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect is asked to contact University Police at 801-585-2677.
