UPDATE: Fire grows to 175 acres, more fire crews assisting

UPDATE 3/25/2026 7:24 p.m. The Huerfano County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) said the fire is being called the Turkey Fire and has grown to about 175 acres. Crews from the Gardner Fire Department, Rye Fire Department, and Spanish Peaks Fire Department are on scene helping with the firefighting efforts.
