ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - It's a historic day for the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis as they get ready for the grand opening of a new facility in north St. Louis County.
The Centene Corporation donated the building earlier this year to the Urban League. Tuesday is the grand opening of what is going to be a critical facility in the Urban League's efforts to help the North County area.
The Centene Connection Community Center will be located on Pershall Road, just off Interstate 270, near New Halls Ferry Road.
Urban League officials call the building a state-of-the-art facility that is going to serve as a hub for many services.
President and CEO of the Urban League, Michael McMillan, says the building will enhance the ability of the league to deliver vital services and transformative programs to North County residents.
McMillan says the facility will have services to help residents in areas including child care and housing, as well as housing and educational empowerment initiatives.
The building had a $25 million price tag for Centene. The grand opening ceremony is planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday morning.
