TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (ABC4) -- A Utah man is facing felony charges after he was accused of kidnapping and sexually abusing a minor before threatening her and her family if she told anyone.
Abdi A. Harun, 34, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on the second-degree felony charges of kidnapping and forcible sexual abuse as well as the third-degree felony charges of enticing a minor and tampering with a witness.
Police say Harun was tasked with picking up the victim and two other minors from a school and taking them home on June 29, 2024. After dropping off the two other individuals, however, Harun allegedly took the victim to multiple locations across the Salt Lake valley.
The victim told police she started to feel scared and uncomfortable while she was with Harun. At one point, she messaged a friend and told her to contact the police department if she wasn't home within 20 minutes. Her guardian contacted Harun at the same time out of concern that the victim had not been brought home yet, according to court documents.
