Weis Markets celebrates opening of Altoona gas station with donation to fight hunger

ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — Weis Markets is celebrating its Gas N' Goal Fuel Center that opened in Altoona.

They officially opened on Wednesday, July 3, but held a grand opening on Thursday, Aug. 1. The store celebrated the grand opening with a $5,500 donation to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, an organization Weis Markets works closely with throughout the year in the fight against hunger.

"They're our biggest partner throughout central pa and we're proud to help families in need," Dan Redding, Store manager said.

The new gas station, which began construction in April, offers six gas pumps, including two pumps that offer diesel.

“We look forward to the added level of convenience our new fuel center will offer our customers,” Weis Markets Vice President of Marketing and Advertising Maria Rizzo said. “Customers can now use their Weis rewards points in more ways than one, at the pump and during their weekly grocery trips.”
