Work on I-99 and other roads may cause delays in Centre County

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) -- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that there will be maintenance activities in Centre County.

The work will begin on Monday, Aug. 5 and consist of bridge and maintenance cleaning, crack seal and hot pour mastic, manual patching, pipe replacing and cleaning as well as vegetation maintenance.

The following areas will be affected during the maintenance period:

Bridge Maintenance & Cleaning

  • I-99 between Port Matilda and Bellefonte. Monday, Aug. 5, through Thursday, Aug. 8. PennDOT will implement short-term lane closures while completing this work.

Crack Seal & Hot Pour Mastic

  • Route 879 (Pine Glenn Road) in Burnside Township. Monday, Aug. 5, through Wednesday, Aug. 7. Flaggers in the roadway will provide traffic control during daylight hours.
  • Route 322 in College and Harris townships. Monday, Aug. 5, through Thursday, Aug. 8. Flaggers in the roadway will provide traffic control during daylight hours.

Manual Patching

  • Route 26 (College Avenue). Monday, Aug. 5, through Thursday, Aug. 8. PennDOT will implement short-term lane closures while completing this work.
