WW2 veteran laid to rest in Clovis decades after his death

CLOVIS, N.M. (KRQE) –  A World War 2 veteran and prisoner of war captive was laid to rest in Clovis 82 years after his death. The remains of Sgt. Sam A. Price were repatriated to the United States last week after he passed away as a POW in World War 2. The Defense POW/MIA Personnel Agency accounted for his body on April 25.

Sgt. Prince died on September 22, 1942, after being subjected to the Bataan Death March conducted by Japanese forces. His body was laid to rest at the Mission Garden of Memories Cemetery in Clovis.

Prince is the second Bataan veteran to be repatriated this year though hundreds remain unidentified.
