Carmel Christkindlmarkt selects new CEO

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Carmel Christkindlmarkt on Thursday named a new Chief Executive Officer.

The Market’s leadership and board of directors chose Jason Adamowicz from a large pool of candidates, the Carmel Christkindlmarkt said in a release.

Adamowicz joins the organization after serving as chief operating officer of the YMCA in Muncie, a position he has held since 2017.

“It’s an honor to join the Carmel Christkindlmarkt and be part of this beloved community tradition,” Adamowicz said. “The annual Market has become the heart of our local holiday season. I look forward to working with staff, partners, and the community to uphold the highest bar for guest experience while advancing our mission.”

Adamowicz, a longtime Carmel resident, has a background in the nonprofit sector with experience working with governments and managing community partnerships. He has also worked on securing grants and sponsor funding.

Julia Davis, acting CEO for the Carmel Christkindlmarkt, said she and the staff are thrilled with the selection.

“He’s energetic and passionate, and we’re confident that he will successfully lead the Carmel Christkindlmarkt into the next phase of its growth as a nonprofit cultural attraction,” Davis said.

Adamowicz will start his new position as CEO on Feb. 23.
