Indiana high school baseball teams shine in regional rankings

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indiana continues to cement its reputation as one of the Midwest’s top high school baseball hotbeds, with seven programs earning spots in Perfect Game’s latest Ohio Valley High School Rankings.

Leading the way for the Hoosier State is Center Grove, ranked No. 4 overall in the regional poll. The Trojans are joined by Crown Point (No. 7), Zionsville (No. 15), Noblesville (No. 17), Fishers (No. 20), Westfield (No. 23), and McCutcheon (No. 25).

The Ohio Valley rankings, compiled by national scouting service Perfect Game, include top programs from Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky and Michigan.

Center Grove’s No. 4 ranking places the Johnson County powerhouse, among elite company, in a region that includes traditional powers such as Trinity (Kentucky) Archbishop Moeller (Ohio) and St. Laurence (Illinois). The Trojans have been a consistent contender in Indiana’s largest classification and are widely regarded for producing high-level college and professional talent.

Crown Point, ranked No. 7, gives Northwest Indiana a strong presence in the top 10. The Bulldogs have built a reputation for pitching depth and postseason consistency in recent years.
