IU lecturer arrested for child solicitation
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — An Indiana University economics department director was arrested Thursday in Bloomington on a preliminary charge of child solicitation following an undercover sting operation in Florida, the Bloomington Police Department said.
Capt. Ryan Pedigo of Bloomington police said in an email to News 8 that James K. Self, 61, was taken into custody during a morning traffic stop. He faces a low-level felony charge.
Investigators in Florida had linked Self to an October undercover operation where officers posed as a 14-year-old boy to identify online predators.
