Man convicted of murder, armed robbery, and auto theft for 2-day crime spree in 2023

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man was convicted of several charges for a two-day crime spree in February 2023, according to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.

Terell Williamson was convicted Thursday for his role in a two-day crime spree in February 2023 that left one man dead.

Following a three-day trial, deputy prosecutors secured convictions for murder, attempted armed robbery, unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, intimidation, and two counts of auto theft.

On Feb. 11, 2023, at 4:13 p.m., Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to a fatal hit-and-run crash near 16th Street and Capitol Avenue on the city’s near-north side. That is next to the construction site of the new IU Health Methodist Hospital. Witnesses reported that a silver SUV was driving recklessly before swerving onto a curb and striking John Pollard, who later died from his injuries. Several witnesses told police they believed the driver intentionally hit the victim.

Investigators later learned Pollard and his son had been walking near 16th Street and Meridian Street when they were confronted by Williamson and a brief altercation ensued. After the confrontation, Williamson struck Pollard with his vehicle.
