Man caught on camera roaming Newark backyard in early morning trespass

Newark, NJ – A man moving through a residential backyard in the early morning hours of March 20 has prompted a public search after surveillance footage captured repeated trespassing activity on a quiet Newark block, leaving investigators seeking help to identify him.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:15 a.m. in the 100 block of Alexander Street, where video shows the individual entering and walking through the rear of a private property multiple times. The activity was recorded by home surveillance systems, according to information released by the Newark Department of Public Safety.

Officials described the suspect as a Black male with short braided hair and a thin build. He was last seen wearing a white long-sleeve shirt featuring a brown or orange logo, green camouflage pants, and white shoes.
