Navigating college athletics: NCAA offers guidance for student-athletes and families

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The NCAA will host its 2026 Men’s Final Four High School Student-Athlete Symposium on April 6 at the NCAA National Office in Indianapolis to help students and their families navigate the transition to college athletics.

The event, scheduled from 10 to 11:30 a.m., will cover academic requirements, recruiting basics, name, image and likeness opportunities and mental health resources.

About 250 attendees are expected, including student-athletes in grades eight through 12, along with parents, high school counselors and coaches. Representatives from the NCAA Eligibility Center, the NCAA Sports Science Institute and other governance departments will participate.
