NJ Republicans blame decades of Democratic control as data shows high taxes, rising costs connected to one-party rule

Trenton, New Jersey — New Jersey Senate Republicans said Friday that more than two decades of Democratic control of state government have contributed to rising costs and affordability challenges, citing data showing the state has among the highest property taxes and living expenses in the nation.

In a statement posted April 10, the New Jersey Senate Republican caucus argued that long-term Democratic leadership in the Legislature and Governor’s Office has coincided with increasing financial pressure on residents, while pointing to broader economic indicators to support their claims.
